Name change and Irish citizenship via naturalisation

It's been a lifelong dream of mine to change my Lithuanian name to something not so foreign. I'm still traumatized by the years of my damn name not fitting on a permission slip for a school trip as well as the dozens of variations of pronunciation and spelling :(. Just for context I'm planning to change Gabrielius Leonavičius to Gabriel Leonard or something similar. I'm also intending on applying for Irish citizenship via the naturalisation process.

I've finished the Leaving Cert that was never meant to be and will go to university soon. I've been thinking of changing my name and applying for citizenship as soon as the offices open(the backlog will be terrifying).
One issue does arise if I change my name first. Technically all my evidence of residency in the form of letters would be null and void. Would supplementing them with a deed poll be adequate? If this is a none issue I can see a few benefits from this approach. My naturalisation certificate will be in my new name, my diploma and other important documents as well. This would save a lot of hassle of changing my name on these documents, if that's even possible(is it possible though?). A fresh start in other words.

I know this isn't in the scope of this forum but if I changed my name first I would be issued a new birth certificate by the Lithuanian authorities. I sincerely doubt they would do this for a non-citizen. I'm rather keen on proving that I was born if a situation arises in the future:D.

If changing my name does mean I have to collect new evidence to prove my residence(a staggering 5 years:rolleyes:) I probably wouldn't bother waiting that long and just settle with Irish citizenship(I would be delighted:)).
I would like to hear you opinions on which sequence I should choose.
Change name -> Apply for citizenship or Apply for citizenship -> Change name.
PS, can someone else think of any other stuff I'd have to change my name for, other than the usual driving license and other government stuff?

hey I wouldn't think it would be an issue as long as you produce the deed poll when you apply, and I would also change things before you apply- e.g your tax, phone bill and so on.
