Frost stat wiring issue..

    Hi all

I am having an electrical issue with my boiler.

The frost stat is the small copper manifold type with a coil of copper wire.

The copper manifold is located in its two clips it is designed for and the copper wire coil goes into a 3/4" plastic pipe duct under ground and from there i dont know.

I personally think it is going in the duct along with the cable duct to the time clock which is around 4 metres away...when i open the time clock wiring ,i cant see any coil type wire but i can see a different colour wire coming up along with the 3 core for the bolier feed

Personally i think that thats it and its gone directly to the time clock to power the boiler from the timeclock etc

Only thing , with it going under ground it tends to activate the bolier more often and the day does not have to be really cold

This stat has no manual dial

I know you need a permanent live for a frost stat, but does it really have to go all the way back to the time clock

Anyone on here that could help me please

    Regards
    Brian

U sure it's a frost stat and not a fire valve that you are describing?

I think the fire valve is on the oil line around the filter so its not that

Looks like a fire valve phial to me. Post a pic of the fire valve you mentioned (Near the filter).

the frost stat is built into the boiler electrical panel and fed from the permanent live it will be around the back of the panel around where the stat it

if the boiler is been activated as you explain it would most likely be a motorised valve with a sticking micro switch that is if you have motorised valves it would be my first place looking

it could be the frost stat as you say but id go motorised valve first
