    Hi Folks,

Has anyone replaced the battery in their E90? The one in the missus went recently and looking into it, it seems replacing the battery isn't a straightforward process. First off the unit isn't designed to be user replaceable. It uses a rechargeable coin cell and there's mixed information online about what the correct battery to get is from the likes of Amazon etc.

It seems in the UK there are places you can send the key off to and they'll replace the battery for you. Is there anywhere here that offers that type of service?

You could try contact somewhere like Autokey for advice on this one as they provide key repair services. Otherwise, perhaps a BMW main dealer may be able to assist.
