Visa application & tenancy agreement

    Hi

My partner and I have submitted an EU treaty rights application. He is non-EU and I am EU citizen.

We applied back in December and the decision date was this week but due to COVID19 permissions have been extended by 2 months so we are expecting the decision latest August.

We submitted all the required proof of living together documents at the time, however, our 12 month tenancy agreement has now reached the end date (end of April) Is this going to cause an issue if we have not obtained an updated contract and sent to INIS? We are still at the same property.

    Thanks in advance

No, it shouldn't be a problem. They may ask you for a new proof of address before they grant the permission.

Thanks! Just because we are unmarried partners, we don’t have a marriage certificate to fall back on! Have you ever heard of them calling the landlord to confirm residence? (Landlord will do this, just asking out of curiosity)

Nah, unlikely unless they thought there was something suspicious on your application. Has never happened with anyone I've dealt with. They would just ask you for more bills etc. Make sure everything like bins, internet, anything else has joint names on it. If you don't have any bills in your joint names might not hurt to set up a joint bank account and use that to pay the rent out of or something.
