    Hi

Had a nasty outbreak of crypto scour
    Treated successfully with halocur
Just wondering how long after recovery that I can mix the recovered calves with calves which did not get infected in a suckler herd?

I dont think halocur is a treatment, it's a preventative. Are they outside?

It's from day5 to 21 that a calf is the most at risk to spread it. If you can get past 3 weeks with suckler calf you are pretty sure to be out of the woods with it. If they are outside there should not be a problem. It's not spread from animal to animal, it's spread from the environment that the cow calves in or calf pens. Keep the calving pens clean and disinfected, and steam cleaned. Also good to get cows out to clean off. Had a few hard years with it, in a suckler herd and moved to calving later and straight out within 24hrs and if possible calve outside.Extra calving pens put in this year and now riggerous cleaning of pens between each calving.

The halocur works for me as a treatment both this year and last(also raw eggs)
It was two 1 week old calves that got it and i was concerned thet they might pass it on to calves 2 months or older
    One calved inside 1 outside
