Van sites in the north

I've scoured DoneDeal for a second hand van to build a camper conversion. Ideally an LDV convoy or LWB Hi Roof Transit twin wheel or something. Price Sub2K if possible.

I know there's value to be had in the north but I find it really difficult to find any decent websites. Gumtree usedcarsni and autotrader all seem to be pants. Anyone got any ideas?

Is there really value in the north on vans? Most of them have 20% vat on top.

I have always found them to be bad value when it comes to van compared to down here.

But be prepared, we live in a brave new world where everyone is a delivery driver and vans are getting a bit of a premium right now for anything decent. Sub 2k will not be easy and remember there is still a few quid to change it over here. VRT, plates, and a fresh DOE will put €400ish on to your price and that is being really conservative. Is there a NOX charge on vans?

There is no Nox charge on vans.

Camper conversion will need its own DOE (CVRT now) either way, plus the €200 van VRT will be deducted from the camper VRT when the time comes.

    Looking myself at the moment.
Supply of vans in the south is shocking at the moment. Terribly abused with no maintenance history. I’ve said before, the republic has a very poor motoring culture, vehicles are poorly cared for in general.

Have my eye in a minibus at the moment but bloody travel restriction is a pain.
