Looking to buy a tablet for browsing magazines etc for the wife and I, probably some YouTube as well and general browsing. Both of us use Android phones and would like a bigger screen for around the house.

Was looking at the above two as options, would look to install the Play store on the Fire if I went that route. Would be nice to have a pure Android device with the Samsung but the price difference is large - £150 for the Fire and £350 for the Samsung.

    Any advice? Thanks.

The Fire 10" tablet is regularly down around £100, so much better value for money. Can't go wrong with it for general browsing.

Have a fire 10. Got it Christmas 2018. Still very happy with it. If it broke in the morning I would get another one. Now if someone gave me a choice between that and a new iPad for ~€100 I would of course go for the iPad for the range of extra power and functions. But all I use it for reading, surfing the web and watching Netflix etc. If that is what you plan to do it is very hard to justify spending €250 extra for the Samsung or even more for an iPad.
