Vectra C airbag wiring

Done a few odd jobs with my Vectra in recent days. Fixed small jobs and replaced worn part (all interior) such as gearstick gaitor, upgraded vents, fixed a door sensor, etc.

One of the jobs was my driver's seat. The lever for lifting the seat (height adjustment) was broken and stuck in the lowest position. Was thinking of repairing when i was offered a, basically, new seat for essnetially nothing.

I took the old seat out and installed the new one. Airbag light came on after i reconnected the battery. Figured it might not recognised the new airbag (from a facelift model, whereas mine is pre-facelift) so i stripped out the "new" seat and swapped over the old airbag and pretensioner from my original seat into the new one. Not a big job and only took time.

Installed the new seat and still the airbag light is on. Took the car to local garage and got the fault codes read. It threw up four faults about driver airbag, side curtain airbag, pretensioner and even one about the passenger side airbag.

Now none of this was present before the seat change so its obvious i've done something or a wire is pinched or a connector not properly connected.

I intend to remove the seat and check all connections, wires, etc. for pinching, breaks or poor connections. However the only thing i really touched was the connectors under the driver seat and it got me thinking.

I had a similar problem with a VW some years back and the solution was to remove the connectors under the seat completely and simply join the wires direct via a butt connector or something similar.

Would this work with a Vectra C?

    TIA.
