Try to see if it helps double clutching (you clutch to go from second to neutral, clutch up, then clutch again as you go from neutral to third).
It won't fix whatever is wrong but can help troubleshooting.

Tough one with this OP. Clutch master cylinders give trouble, clutch pressure plates give trouble and boxes themselves give trouble.

Is the clutch pedal heavy to press down and is the biting point very near to the floor? If so it might be just a case of a master cylinder and possibly a pressure plate.

If the pedal is light and the bite point is ok (around half way up) I'd be expecting the issue to be within the gearbox unfortunately.

Clutch seems alright what would be most expensive clutch or gearbox dont want to bring it to my local garage he is a great man for ripping and leaving it sit there than, might just leave it and try to trade it in later on in the year. Sure I have 5 other gears.

if its only in third gear it pretty much has to be a syncro on that gear if it was a clutch issue it would be much worse to select first and reverse .
