What would be the best spray to use to kill thistles and nettles in grazing ground?

I don’t think spraying at the moment would be recommended. Grass is under tremendous stress and while the spray is selective it may be enough to finish off the grass.

Early on I sprayed MCPA, growth was good and strong at the time,
grass is definitely Additionally impacted now the drought has kicked in big time.

I'd agree, the grass will still take it up and it might be too weak to fight it.

All we're doing here is letting the cows graze around it and top it when its nearing flower
