Does anyone have experience of the new Vodafone 10Mbps capped data plan? I have very good Vodafone coverage but I'm just wondering does it slow down well below 10 or keep stable with contention? I've attached some screenshots from my phone that has no speed cap. Coverage is not the issue. Just wondering what performance is like with the cap. Currently paying €35/month for 15/2 that never really gets up to that speed unless it's the middle of the night. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I'm not answering your direct question but performance would really depend on how many users (and how heavy their usage is) are using your local Vodafone mast. Also Vodafone have recently launched the Vodafone X unlimited, but speed capped, data plan so it will take a while for the effects of this to be be felt I would think.

The only way to get a proper answer, as with any of the operators, is take the €20 punt with the prepaid X plan and see how you get on.

Thanks Jim. The local vodafone mast is not an issue at all at the moment. The lowest I've got is 34/2 on my phone plan that isn't capped at 10. I'm just wondering would the 10 nearly be guaranteed in my case or would it be capped and be almost like a percentage the normal speeds. I've ordered a sim to try it out anyway. Will post how I get on.

I would expect the latter. The eNBs in the tower probably won't be given the extra work of rate limiting you, instead routers inside the VF network could act as the bottleneck. Once the capacity is there you should get the 10.

Unless VF decide to QoS you after your first 100GB.
