    Hi
What’s required in order to sell cattle??
I have 5 bullocks to go but I’m unsure what I need to have in order to sell them.
Does the blue card go with the animal when he leaves here and buyer takes care if it or do I send it to dafm with details of who bought him??

Or if I sell at mart how does it work??
Must they be booked in with the mart prior to sale??
Coming to end of first year keeping cattle so a bit clueless
    Thanks

If you are going to the mart bring the blue card with you and give it to the mart official and he will look after it. Whoever buys the animal will be given the card by the mart you have to do nothing else.

Just in case you are not familiar

'Under EU and National rules, each and every bovine animal on the holding, with the sole exception of calves under six weeks old which were born on the holding, must be subjected to an Annual Test.'

    If medicine was recently administered

The withdrawal period is 28 days and this is worked out between the manufacturer and the licensing authority, the Irish Medicines Board. It's written on the bottle and the veterinary practitioner states it and records it on the prescription docket at the time of dispense.

Not all medicines have a withdrawal period of 28 days, Trodax is 60 days, imizol is 213 days.
