    Hi

I hate putting these types of posts up but found a lovely house in rathcoole for sale and would be close for work for us.

Is it a safe place to live.

Again I apologise no offence intended from Rathcool just want honest feedback it is near Eaton development

    Thanks in advance

I wouldn't. In a few months, prices may go down and you can get nicer. Try for a smaller house elsewhere, main street, hillview - big houses, stoney lane and anywhere towards Saggart end of Rathcoole is your best bet for what you are looking for.

Traffic is brutal mornings in particular, takes an age to just get onto N7.

Prices will go down but banks wont lend as much either. If you have the money I would wait

To answer your question, it is safe. You get the odd spate of burglaries but the guards seem to do a good job, those responsible for a lot around Christmas time seem to have been caught, and there have been more gardai assigned to the area.

It's a nice village to walk through with a lovely park at the end. The only real thing it's missing is a decent pub, and a traffic solution for mornings though covid may help a lot in the future with workings from home.

Hi, I am planning to buy house in broadfield minor, Rathcoole. I have young kids. Is it safe area? Read a lot of news of recent house thefts so bit worried. Can you guys please help me out ?

Moved to Forest Hills, Rathcoole just over 3 years ago.

There was a number of break-ins over a 2 month period 2 years ago. Gained entry to houses to steal car keys.

Since the above all quiet, lovely place to live. Not much in the way of restaurants, a few take away, couple of cafes, 4 pubs (Poitin Still being is family friendly) and the Avoca.

Nice size park and local shops, larger supermarket in City West.

Downside is getting out of the village due to poor traffic management and the the number of new homes being built. New warehousing being built all the time in Newcastle that share the same exit off the N7.

    Hi

According to a neighbour, there's 4 schools in the area, the most popular is the holyfamily but its over subscribed there is availability at the educate together school other than that you might have to look at Sagart or Newcastle. As for the quality I can't help.
