I have a few trees beside ESB wire, while the trees aren't growing under the wire, they are beside the ESB wire and if they were to fall, they would probably faLl on the wire. Would the ESB cut the trees down for me.

No, but they'll send you a bill when your trees take out their lines!

I though someone told me that the ESB would cut them down for free?

If the trees were growing there before the esb put the line up,its would be esb problem then if they fell on the wire

They go around here in a helicopter first and view the wires. Then a contractor comes and cuts anything near the wires. I never let them in with heavy machinery when land is wet

Just be prepared for a job so shoddy that it will be hard to believe any sane person did it on purpose. What has been done here beggars belief.

The last time the contractors came in here they left the place in an absolute mess. Rutted the land and just threw the cut branches on a pile up on the hedge. I pulled them out after and cut them for firewood.
I keep the trees cut low myself now under the wires, so they don't have to come do them.

Their priority is to reduce the risk of branches hitting wires not trimming your roses.

Esb priority is to make money and invest little in maintenance of existing network.

sub contractors who carry out so called line clearance can't get in and out quick enough. hence previous posters annoyance over butcher and run job.

Op if esb do eventually do anything on them trees it will be minimal around the line.
they want to be able to come back when the branches are growing back up to the line for another errand. another excuse for overpriced electricity

Who is talking about roses? If you don't have a clue what you are talking about, why do you bother to comment.
