TI Auto were always Alfa Romeo specialists. According to their facebook page they are open again but it looks like they are winding down for good towards the end of June so you would want to act pronto.

TI is winding down due to Gerry's retirement

Bought a 166 from Paschal Kennedy years ago, I'll stop here

Have a look at Don Baker near Enfield

Auto Maintenance Services in Santry. Fixed stuff that dealers and indeed TI just ran from looking at.

Have two specialist cars in the extended family, a parts nightmare Panda 100 and an Alfa Brera.

If its a more modern car, particularly a semi-GM, they're going to be more capable with it than any of the old Alfa specialists who I'd probably still go to for a pre-80s Alfa.

TI is closing at the end of June. Still operating until then. About 15 years ago I found a recommendation for them here on Boards and have had my Alfas serviced there ever since. Gerry is a gentleman and fully deserves the additional family time his retirement will give him. For us Alfa owners a big loss.

There was George Frayne in Naas too, but I believe he’s also closed up.

There is the Fiat/Alfa/etc dealer owned by Fiat Ireland which was briefly based in the old Airton Fiat site in Tallaght; but now is on the Naas Road.

My experience was that they were oddly cheap, but you got what you paid for

I wouldn't let Tractamotors near a car I owned after family experience of how 'well' they managed the known soft head'ed 8v FIRE engines. Although there are still some "proper" FIAT lads working there - I was approached about selling my car when filling up at their petrol station!

As an aside - does any other dealer in Dublin still have a petrol station? Even with the last few that were attached to a big brand, (Michael Grant Irishtown, Belgard Motors) the dealer is gone; and as far as I know Tractamotors actually run that station.

As a second aside - the reason the specialists are closing/retiring with nobody to replace is that FCA are down to a fraction of a percent in sales here. Fiat haven't had a new car anyone wants in a decade - sure the Tipo is a nice car but its misplaced and not advertised - and they lost the rental car sales they once had. Alfa were lost for years and its far too late to get back here. If they can't clamber upwards with the PSA merger they may as well leave the market.

Really like the Guilia. Was in the market for a company car lately and one would have suited me perfectly but I just played safe and went with a 3 series...and this wasn't my own money as such. So you'd have to be a diehard to buy one, there's only a handful of dealers and nothing like the ivory towers experience of BMW et al. When people are spending the guts of €50 k, the experience has to match that.
The cars are good, it's the dealer and backup package that's the problem with Alfa. Even across Europe sales are way down.

What car is it? Just out of curiosity.

I know this isn't in Dublin, but The Sweep Garage in Kilmeadan, Waterford, used to sell Alfas and Fiats and are still well regarded in the Alfa community. I had our Giulietta in for it's major service there last summer and they did a fine job.

I'm in the same boat myself. Recommended to me here and on alfaowner. I'll be really sorry to seem them close. Built up a lot of trust with Gerry, David, et al. In a way, I'm surprised the son's aren't keeping it on but in another way, I'm not. I'm not sure if the family own that site but has got to be worth a right few bob.

Perhaps his sons might open up somewhere more cost effective after the retirement fund has been swelled. I certainly hope they do as they were just as good to deal with.

I'll be nipping in for a final service anyways.

An Abarth 500(I think it shares an engine with the Giulietta), ended up going with TI Autos but cheers for the reply.

When you see Pascal Kennedy Motors in your rear view mirror getting smaller and smaller keep going until it's not visible.

Depending on the engine have a look at the likes of a Saab garage such as Saab Wisdom/Saab Spares/McCormac Motors or Stuee Mason as some Saabs have Fiat/Alfa engines.

Sad to see TI go, great little garage with some beautiful cars in there.

If anyone has any recommendations for another garage to service my 159 1750 TBI would be delighted to hear!
