Earlier this morning the London Metro police tweeted about their support of International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia.
    ( #IDAHOBIT )

Thre reaction seems to be massively negative. This can be easily seen under the tweet. Many are suggesting that police resources should be spent on more pressing matters.

    The backlash is stupid.

Surely any policing force need to be working on preventing crime such as supporting events that have an anti crime message.

I’d rather prevent crimes rather than just be dealing with the fallout.

I'm sure if they really want, they could apply for a refund on the amount spent to send the tweet. Not sure how millions of people will fairly share a fraction of a penny though.

It's almost as if people don't understand the idea of community policing.......

Guessing they have somebody who's role is dedicated to social media. So tweeting about such topics would be within their remit. I imagine they also have tweets that highlight issues of racism etc. And all these issues have the potential to show up in their day to day work. Also certain groups are less likely to report crimes to the police because of a history of discrimination, so it makes such people more likely to report crimes.

    So makes sense.

What's interphobia? It's a new one to me; obviously not a fear of the internet.

There is likely as much crime relating to interphobia as there is to the theft of miniture Vietnamese Pot Belly Pigs.
They are blowing this all out of proportion.

I've just googled it and I'm still at a loss, seems to be another made up gender issue thing or someone who can't make up their minds whether they're male or female or some (I think) are born without the full genitalia of either a boy or a girl, confusing for me tbh but if they're doing no harm let 'em be.

I guess a lot of people are angry about their support for rubbish like this when you contrast it to their shoot on kill policies for various ethnic groups throughout the years.
Specifically the guy on the London underground where they held him down and put a few bullets into his face and basically all of them got off scot free.
Then you have the whole so called paedophile ring which later turned out to be complete lies a few years later but not before some of the accused died before ever being declared innocent.

So yeah if you were living in London where crime is rampant, acid attacks , knife attacks etc under a Labour Mayor who are notoriously soft on crime yeah I'd imagine there would be a backlash against nonsense like this.

Those people could honestly do with a good dose of get the hell over themselves. I don’t particularly care one way or another for what is essentially a political ideology I have no interest in, but there are some people out there who will see the tweet and take heart from the fact that they are encouraged to report criminal behaviour to the police.

And then there are the people with their heads up their own asses who see things like this as “a waste of resources”

    Interphobia
Fear of the internet or social interactions on the internet.
Nick was bullied all over the internet on MySpace and now is feeling interphobia. He refuses to use the internet anymore.

    Interphobia
1/Noun/: To have a fear of intercourse resulting from previous brutal experiances (see Interphobic)

    What is Intersexphobia, or Interphobia?
    https://www.intersexequality.com/what-is-interphobia/

    By Hida | April 1, 2015
...Intersexphobia and Interphobia are defined as negative attitudes and feelings towards people who are believed to possess biological sex traits that are not typically male or female, known as Intersex Traits (whether they are actually born with them or simply exhibit non-binary gender identity or expression, which is commonly associated with having congenital Intersex Traits.

Interphobia is evidenced in widespread violence and severe discrimination against intersex people, such the practice of Intersex Genital Mutilation (IGM). IGM is the medicalized effort to eradicate intersex people from society by “normalizing” intersex bodies into more typically male or female bodies in order to maintain sex and gender norms. As an excellent Harvard Law Review article examines, medical “treatment” of intersex people with IGM not only utilizes some of the same nonconsensual, medically unnecessary, cosmetic genital surgeries used in Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), it is also, like FGM, a culturally driven practice which is performed in order to uphold cultural attitudes and beliefs about sex and gender, rather than for medical reasons. Simply put, all effort to “fix” intersex bodies to fit into male and female sex and gender “norms” are inherently interphobic and violently discriminatory.

Interphobia also drives discriminatory practices against intersex adults as well as minors and youth, such as regulations against intersex female athletes (with high levels of functional testosterone) which require them to undergo medically unnecessary, “feminizing”, medical treatments such as hormone therapy, in order to compete as women. The fact that these regulations persist — despite findings by the sporting bodies’ own medical experts that there is no evidence that these intersex women have a competitive advantage — demonstrates the interphobic attitudes on which it is based, which have historically deemed intersex people as “gender interlopers”, or, essentially, criminals, in need of punishment.

Not going along with such political ideology shouldn't be a criminal matter.
