    Hi!
I hope you are all well.
I am trying to build up an adventure bike.
I have to install a bottom bracket ( Shimano bb60),
    Headset, and hydraulic disc brakes.

The shifters are new Shimano grx hyro shifters and calipers are r785....

Can you recommend a compatible brake bleed kit & a good multi purpose torque wrench?

I am only learning & all these torque references are kinda scary for a novice ... is there a way to approximate torque tighness with a standard wrench, for example on the bb?

    Thank you for reading,

    A

Shimano bleed kit and mineral oil will do fine. If its aluminium threaded bb you shouldn't need a torque wrench, other than that I would advise on getting one.

No need for a torque wrench, just tighten it down till you hear the crack, then back it off a quarter turn

(Obviously this is a joke, but you can just do up the BB nice and tight without need to torque)

Edited to add: what material is the frame?

I got a bleed kit of these guys https://epicbleedsolutions.com/ who specialise in this. Worked well for me.

    Thanks for the replies...
    The frame is titanium...
The bb actually is an Ultegra bbr60 68mm..

The torque wrenches seem quite expensive...
I will have a look at the bleed kit you recommend...
I think I need an adapter for the top of the grx hood!

Gebnerally the adaptor comes in the box with the BB, used to anyway, it's only a bit of plastic.

The torque wrench for the BB would be bigger then the one for the rest of the bike, I never use one fitting a BB on mine, just put it in nice and snug, it'll have locktite on the threads when it comes so unlikley to give much trouble from that score.

Torque wrenches only operate over certain ranges, so you won't get one torque wrench to cover every bolt on the bike. You'd end up needing a range of them.

Having said that, I've just stripped two bikes completely, and rebuilt one, and I torqued exactly zero fasteners

I built up a gravel bike last month with GRX 600 groupeset (also my first ever bike build).

As mentioned above, an adaptor will come with your BB and fit in the BB wrench.
For the brake bleed kit and brake fluid, I bought the Shimano kit off bikecomponents.de. The kit was around €15. You should get an adapter with your levers for the bleed kit.

I have a little 5nm Bontrager torque tool which I used for the standard bolts on the stem, callipers and seat post. Everything else was done by feel.

    Thanks David.
Can you advise me what bleed kit you bought?
I will check the grx levers for an adapter,

I have the torque wrench Canyon supply with their bikes for a variety of smaller bolt sizes!

Shimano bleed kit TL-BT03S. Sorry it cost €20, not €15 mentioned above. From what I've learned, its a must have bit of kit if you're doing all the work yourself.

The torque wrench is all you need as it will cover everything apart from the BB.

What titanium frameset is it out of interest?

Buy a proper tool for fitting bb. There's a specific 1/2" socket tool for that bb.

I'm tool lazy to go looking for it to link

Plastic adapters with 40Nm or so will eventually end in tears.

I bought this bleed kit from AliExpress last year. Used it once to bleed the brakes on my winter bike and it worked a treat. The kit contains loads of various fittings for every possible type of hydraulic brake system.

I have no idea what the shipping time from China currently is but be prepared to wait a month or two.
