What bad storie have you heard, they're a scrap company, ring them and ask how much your car is worth and if you want to sell it to them sell it, it's really that simple, what are you expecting for a non running 04 Mazda, current scrap prices for cars are around 30 euros a ton so you can estimate what your car is worth

You might get a few euro more from someone looking for parts but its not worth the diesel the truck would use to come to collect it imo

Have you any idea why it isn't running, or what needs doing on it?
A mate of mine that dabbles in cars always lists non-runners in the Breaking/Repairables section on Donedeal and reckons they sell better there than in main section. Might be worth a shot

    Thanks for all replies.
Issue is unknown, could be dying ecu, it just started to stop running one day. I did checked everything, all looked fine.
Im aware that its not worth a lot, but would like to get a little bit more than 70€ which I got on site mentioned earlier. I would be happy to get around 150-200 to atleast cover cost of tyres which I bought before the breakdown 🀣

How much are you asking on whatever site you have it listed on, a buyer wont care what tyres are on it, the car is worth scrap weight, maybe take the tyres and wheels off and try to sell separately

Put it on donedeal for 200. One of our cultured brethren will come and take it. Do not give them the VLC though

They will just offer you a tenner for it and maybe a lurcher pup.

Likewise. 45 euro for an old Audi A4 Id gladly have paid to have taken away. They provide the cert of destruction as well.

Ill try donedeal one more time, if no luck Ill go with them. Atleast I wont have to loose more money to get it towed away.
    Thanks

That'd be a hard car to give away if it was running, never mind non runner. I dont think selling it is an option, call a scrap yard, they may come and pick it up and take it away.

+1 in cartakeback. I used them a few months earlier this year. I got 150 euro for 06 avensis diesel with the flywheel gone. They came to the house and collected it for that too.

If it was actually running then 200 would be optimistic IMO, cut your losses and get rid, €70 is more than I would have expected

Is it running? What condition is it in and are you just looking for scrap value?

Same here. For a 407 Coupé. I'll drive it to the breakers myself when metal prices rise.

I do not think car prices will recover, metal at 100 a ton when places opened this morning, cars still hovering around 35 a ton, its been like that for a while now, i know just before lockdown some places only paying 25 a ton, cars aren't worth the hassle now

God it's depressing seeing what you get for cars now for scrap! Put in a rare car I have and came up offering €36. Wheel nuts are worth more than that alone! (I know it's meant for a scrap car, but was interesting to see!)

I guess i was lucky when i got rid of my avensis. I put in the reg details this morning to check and was given a quote of 26 euro. big difference in price in a few months.
I understand the ops comment about the tyres as i had put new tyres on the avensis before the flywheel went. luckily my wife's car had to same size tyres so i transferred my new tyres to her car when she needed them.
