I am new here, so I apologize if there is already a thread on this.

Has anybody seen this series? I think it is REALLY good and shows Jesus in a human (although still the Son of God) manner. It shows him laughing, smiling and compassionate. Kind of way I always pictured him but not often shown in movies, TV.

I think it has taken some criticism from some. Many of the episodes are based on a bible story and are true to it (wedding at Cana, meeting Peter for the first time on the fishing boat), but they put a little story behind it that may not ne in the Bible. I do not see that as heretical. I really like it and see it as a good way to expose people to Jesus and to allow those who already 'know' him to see him in a slightly different light.

    Just wondering what others think.

I've never seen this series. Is it online on any streaming platform?

It's independently produced and distributed. Parts of it are available on YouTube but, so far as I know, the only way to see the whole of Season 1 (of a planned 8 seasons) is to download a dedicated app and stream it through that. I think you can get Season 1 for free, but - I'm guessing here - expect a pretty hard sell through the app on why you should contribute to the funding of Season 2 and later seasons, thereby securing free access to Season 2, when produced. Essentially the thing is crowdfunded, and the app is the main generator of funds as well as the principal distribution platform.

I haven't seen any of it myself, so I can't speak to how good the show is, or how well-made it is.

Thanks for posting this, Brian. Just seeing this now.

And yes, I believe all 8 episodes are on YT now. They MIGHT also have some comments and interviews with the actors, but believe all are there in their entirety.

Yes, it is crowdfunded and there are some appeals for funding for Season 2.

When I first got the app (around Easter), it was advertised as 'paying forward' for others to watch in the future. But it was still free and they even acknowledged that some may not be able to during the pandemic. After watching several episodes that I really enjoyed, I did pay forward at the $14.99 level because I think it is a worthwhile production. But as far as I can tell it will always be available for free.

BTW - the app is pretty good and really facilitates streaming to your smart TV or TV with a streaming device.

This is really the best depiction of Jesus that I has seen in a LONG while...maybe ever.
