When a previous tenant leave the house, should the LL be asked to leave house for 10 days and not open it for viewing. Assumin LL does not disinfect the house initially and wait untill it is let.

When you ask people to stay home and we know virus can stay on metal objects for 8 to 9 days why take a chance?

Previous tenant should have cleaned the property to a sufficient standard.

Cant wait for the first case to come before the RTB where a LL sprays a tenant with disinfectant while wearing a hazmat suit !!

Tenant may clean with say water. There is no onus on tenant to use alcohol based liquid from COVID perspective.

Few news and views online from medical professional and initial updates from WHO is the source.

Once the tenant pays the first months rent then they can wait 14 days no problem.

Which means it can be cleaned in a few hours using the right products.
Tenant in next day. None of this 24 day BS.

No. Just disinfect the place, it kills the stuff as opposed to waiting it to die naturally

By the same logic a property should only be shown once every 10 days or so, for fear that one potential tenant would leave behind something to infect another, or indeed the eventual renter. Or, you know, people could take a bit of personal responsibility and exercise common sense. If you can practice social distancing and proper hygiene as part of the viewing then there should be no greater risk than going to the supermarket.

Now as to whether a property should be left completely idle/vacant for a duration before someone begins to occupy it (viewings included), well that might be a slightly less unreasonable proposition, but probably equally unworkable.

Leave the house an hour to let resp droplets settle, then clean with disinfectant, then good to go.

Agree. Idea was to seek opinions. I'm not an expert in any field. Thanks for a well thought of post
