2012 Insignia oil pressure warning

Ive had this warning pop up once since i bought it back in Jan.
I got the infamous seal replaced soon after and it ran away fine for roughly a month, than out of the blue cruising down the motorway it lit up again.
So i pulled in ad knocked off the engine, but realising i was in a bad spot i had to start the car and move........no light.
Got it to my mechanic soon after and he replaced the pressure switch, and all was fine till about 2 days after and the light and buzzers where going off every 10-20 seconds.
Took it to another mechanic who replace the seal again, just to be sure, and also took off the big end bearings and inspected the crank.
He said the crank was fine and that the previous seal fitted appeared to be pinched.
Got the car back and all is fine until today and im driving through the city and this buzzer and warning light are going on and off like crazy!!

Now im guessing if this was a genuine fault the engine would already be toast, so my question is, what else could it be if both the seal and switch have been changed??

    Thanks in advance

I'm not trying to be smart here, but you sound like you know your onions. Why did you buy an Insignia if you knew already about the problems they all have?!

Either the oil pump has gone or the crankshaft is gone.
I wouldn't drive that car until you fix it.Because it will seize the engine.

    Good question,
    It was a lot of car for the money....60k miles auto,leather,heated seats,climate,sat nav,xenon lights,auto lights/wipers etc....

So i reckoned that for a 300 euro fix i could have a well specd car for good money......

    Yeah, i thought as much.
But heres the thing , i was driving around for a good 20 mins with the buzzer coming on and off.....surely i would be toast by now?
Can i loose oil pressure anywhere else, or is this a potential electrical issue?

A pinhole in the pick up pipe?

I would check the wiring from the oil switch back up to the ECU or where ever it goes.

Did your mechanic check the oil pressure?(ie put a gauge on and actually check the pressure with a gauge)
That’s what I’d be doing- it will point you towards electrical or mechanical issue and possibly put your mind at rest.

Yeah the original guy did ,before he changed the pressure switch.
He said it was all good...

On some cars the oil warning is inhibited from alarming below a certain RPM, its ~ 2000 rpm on vws, so if you had/have a genuine oil pressure problem then as the revs were changing the alarm would give the appearance of coming on/off as you were passing the threshold.
