1.4 d4d Corolla sluggish acceleration

    Hi .... 2004 1.4 d4d corolla , sometimes on acceleration it hesitates and is very sluggish, what could this be? Changed air filter , fuel filter etc . Cant figure it out .... especially going uphill feels like there is something holding it back or blocking the power .

    Done a diagnostics shows up no faults so I don't know where to start

    First thing id recommend you do is check the egr valve

    I had a 2002 2.0L d4d and had a drag issue, it was a seized brake caliper.

    Do check for sticking caliper but also if you are doing lots of sort runs it will do this also. I did it for couple of weeks once and had to do the Italian job and the it runs fine.
