    Hi. I bought washers for my tap. I unscrewed tap valve only to discover that it wouldn't come straight out of tap well. There is what looks like a nut attached to the bottom of it so I was afraid to pull it out in case of damage. So if anyone has any info on this I'd be indeed grateful... all the YouTube videos show valve coming straight out not attached to anything..

    Usually the rubber washer expands in use. Its being pressed down , so tends to swell out sideways.

    so you may have to give it a good yank to get it out.
