    1. I have just purchased a domestic property that was previously repossessed by the bank. The water supply is disconnected. How do I get it switched back on?

    Typically, supply can be switched on/off to a property using the outside stop valve located in the meter box, when safe to do so. However, as this property was repossessed, we would recommend that you get in touch if the supply is disconnected.

    Please contact us on 1850 278 278 and speak to a member of our New Connections department who will be able to advise you regarding this matter. Our New Connections department is open between 9am-5:30pm from Monday to Friday.

    2. I would like a new wastewater connection for my property. How can I apply for this?

    You should be able to pick the wastewater option on the online application which is available here.

    However, if you are unable to do so, you can download the pdf form, fill it out, scan and email it to newconnections@water.ie.

    3. There is a public main running through a house which I have purchased. Am I permitted to extend my property?

    Sewer and drainage connections fall under the remit of the individual landowner and may be moved in line with building regulations. However, the exception to this rule is if there is a public main running through the property under the remit of Irish Water. You should have a Way Leave Agreement and the relevant documentation should have been received along with the deed of the property. Queries in relation to the diversions of public mains on private property can be directed to diversions@water.ie and our Diversions Team will be able to assist you further.

    4. I’m currently experiencing low pressure to my cold kitchen tap. Can you look into this?

    Please send a PM with the following details and we can investigate:

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Contact number;
    - When you first noticed this; and
    - If your neighbours are also affected by this.

    5. I would like an update regarding the status of my New Connection application. Can you help?

    Please PM us with the following information and a member of our team will look into this for you.

    Your full name;
    Contact number;
    Address of the application; and
    Your application reference number.
