Hi lads and ladies. I’ve done a good bit of mtb but never owned my own bike. I’ve been looking around at a few shops and looking for a bike in the €1500-€2000 range, I’d like full suss with large frame and have some good options come back. The kona process 134 being my favourite so far.

Could you guys suggest some shops to shop around in and also maybe some advice on what kind of bike.

    TIA

You'd be hard pressed to find a full suss Kona in that price range, they are expensive bikes. Best bet is probably a YT Jeffsy base model.

Sorry I should have stated completely open to suggestions that was just one bike I liked and was quoted €2300 today for one.

Vitus are highly praised for bikes in your price bracket. Marin also but I've never seen one in the flesh here in Ireland. Great deals to be had second hand but you'd want to be able to check over the bike or know someone who could do it for you when purchasing

+1 for vitus. Also canyon spectral might be worth a look.

Id be slow buying a second hand as unless I knew the owner personally as you dont know how hard the bike has been pushed.

I bought a Canyon Spectral AL 6.0 at start of this year for €2.5k (incl delivery). Would recommend it highly.

The direct-to-customer modelled manufacturers offer the best value in terms of price vs components: Rose, Canyon, YT, Radon. The downside is that you probably won't qualify for Bike-To-Work tax relief because you're not buying from an Irish bike shop.

I've been looking at buying a full suspension at the same price point. From doing a fair bit of reading over the last few months the Vitus Mythique seems to be one of the best bang for your bucks at the price. I'm hoping to get one but they are out of stock on CRC and Wiggle and I've no clue if they will be restocking this year.

Also CRC, does have a bike to work scheme.
