i am working for KN and we are contractors for all providers and we dont do these things at all, just main house, because they dont pay these things
if your man cave is on same main electrical fuse as house why dont try powerline/wifi adapter?

Thanks for reply, makes sense! Man cave currently powered by extension reel t, would that be ok with powerline adapter?

Yes, as long as it’s not surge protected.

get an electrician to run a length of cat.6 and a proper electrical supply to the cave. Would be handy to have a proper supply so you can run a kettle etc... in there.

No, an extension cable will never be good with a powerline adapter, it's the very thing they recommend against

thats for loss reasons and the interconnects between sockets, if the run is short enough it'll be fine. I have used power line kits where the home station was plugged into the other socket of the wall plate and the 25 meter extension lead fully unwound and had no problems getting a 500mbps throughput.

Yeah man, that's the set up I'll have in few weeks, have outdoor cat 6 cable here in box , wanted to see ot eir would do it as plan on changing to them anyway, but as they womt hard wire it, may go with powerline first, followed by hard wiring

I am on a farm and I have a poweline adapter in the shed where cows have their calves about 50 meters from the house. I would be able to download at 30mps out there from a 150mbs FTTH connection. The poweline adapter with WiFi was to serve cameras watching cow calving cases. I do recommend getting an electrician to lay a power cable and a Cat6 Ethernet cables to the shed. Got my house rewired 10 years ago and got Ethernet cables wired to nearly every room.

Also .. just a word of caution:

NONE of the providers will run any sort of cable through your home at the moment.

If they are doing installations, they will install your master socket and that's that. It is far too big a health risk for them to do more than that.
