Dc on his latest podcast with Helwani told a great story about Dana at the khabib vs Mcgregor fight.

Dc had to pay $10,000 for tickets for himself and his family as he didnt want to beg people for free tickets and he left it too late to try get tickets at a fair price.

After Dc helped calm Khabib down in the octagon after the fight and post-fight, Dana thanked Dc by giving him $10,000 as a thank you after he heard how much he paid for the tickets.

He's a great front man and can be exceptionally charming and sincere sounding when he wants. You don't have to scratch far beneath the surface though, to see that he's just another sociopathic businessman - the sorts who seem to especially thrive in America. The vast majority of fighters are not well paid or even well treated and he has been key to preventing any efforts of theirs to unionise. He exerts control over them via pay and fight selection in such a way that ensures that fighters often take fights in scenarios that they otherwise wouldn't (e.g. carrying injuries or in the midst of a pandemic)

At the same time as he's handing out cheques to company men like DC, he's engaging in extremely scummy behaviour. A classic recent example was inviting ex-marine, Liz Carmouche, to a UFC photo shoot to Support The Troops and then terminating her contract within a week.

You don't get to the level he is without been a bastard. He's a promoter, just like Arum, Hearn, none of these guys will be winning the Nobel Prize.
He will do anything to sell a fight and will pay the fighters the least he can, its the nature of the game.
