I've had a Panasonic G10 42" plasma for a decade but it has started switching off and on a bit too much, so time for a replacement. My son wil get the Panny for his XBox so not needed for gaming. I have a yamaha surround sound system so the sound system on the TV is unimportant.

I'm thinking of moving up to 55".  We are on Virgin media TV, but also have Freesat so need an inbuilt decoder.  Netflix and Disney Plus also. So looking at Samsung (is QLED worth it?), maybe LG, etc. Budget sort of 500-800 but expect something long lasting, after the brilliant Panny. When browsing I saw you also had  a Sony XF9005, which is both a bit pricier and a bit older. Have you any suggestions, and at that price point am I as well spending the 550 or so that seems to be a price point for lots of good tv's across a lot of brands.

    Thanks!
