To Stir or not to Stir?

Soon about to use water based undercoat and gloss and the one instruction I don't see on the tin is whether to stir or not ! Any advice please? Always used oil based in the past but the white goes off too quickly now that I'm advancing in years.....hopefully!

Stir it. The solids will sink to the bottom.
