warm floor ( like a warm flat roof )

all - I was wondering if there is a reason no one builds a "warm floor" construction similar but exact inverse of a warm roof.

Basically, what I am talking about is strapping the PIR insulation to the underside of the floor frame

Is this as stupid an idea as it sounds ? I am sure there are 10 good reasons no one does this, but I'd like to know what they are.

    On a new build?

Because you'd have cold bridges at the base of all the internal walls, so it's better to use an insulated slab.

sorry no, I mean on a wooden frame for a wooden room/shed

I was thinking, if a warm roof stops cold bridges through the roof joists - wouldnt it do similar for the floors joists ?

The same logic applies to a shed as it does to a house.

You can insulate a slab or a suspended floor, but the perimeter details and threshold heights will vary depending on your choices and how far you want to go.
