Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz have agreed on the formation of a national emergency government, according to a joint statement from Blue and White and Netanyahu's Likud party.

Israel uses the closed-list method of party-list proportional representation; thus citizens vote for their preferred party and not for any individual candidates.

I know how the closed-list method works.

But the fact of the matter is that Netanyahu has been indicted on corruption charges. Why is that not enough to put many Israeli citizens off voting for his party? Does it not occur to them that Gantz might have been a good prime minister?

We are talking about an apartheid state! If the killing of innocent men women & children, stealing of lands, basically running the largest open air prison on the planet (Gaza) and a litany of other wars crimes doesn't put your population off a bit of corruption pales in comparison

It's like the Unionists and Republicans, they don't care about the individual in charge once they get their policies enacted, Netanyahu can do as he pleases once he continues the criminality against the Palestinians.

This is the answer to my question - this article was published on Tuesday, 3 March, this year.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/03/how-bemjamin-netanyahu-got-his-electoral-swagger-back-amid-corruption-cases-israel
Yuli Edelstein, the speaker of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, and Likud politician, walked confidently with a small entourage through the cheering crowds.

Quickly asked about why the corruption cases appeared not to have had a bigger impact, he summed it up: “The people knew all the facts and figures, and this was their decision and their vote.”

Earlier on election day, a grocer in Jerusalem, Ilana Benyamin, said the accusations of corruption did not phase her. She repeated a widely held local belief that Netanyahu’s 10-year run in power has made Israelis safer and richer, which she said was more important. “I don’t mind if he eats takeaway food in boxes covered with diamonds. Look at what is happening around us,” she said.

And likewise with Hamas and their abuse of the human rights of their Palestinian brothers.
In any case the last 6 weeks have have shown that the West doesnt give a ****e about the Middle East, Africa or Asia.
