Ford Focus C-Max wet front footwells

Hi All,

My wife's Bangernomics 2007 Ford C-Max has very wet carped in the front footwells. OK at the moment as the weather is warm & I leave the 2 front doors open during the day & it has almost dried out. I'm guessing there are some drain holes blocked but taking of the plastic shield in front of the windscreen would involve getting pullers to remove the windscreen wipers. Anyone got a cheap fix/bodge to keep out the damp.

You don't really need a pullers. You should be able to take off the wipers by undoing the nut on the wiper by one or two turns and then giving the spindle and the attached part of the wiper arm a few good slugs with a hammer. Pour boiling water over the wiper arm might also help if it is particularly stubborn.
Then you should be able to get the drain holes cleared.

Another option is to make some drain holes in the floor pan. Maybe at the 4 corners of the footwell, drill a 6mm hole down through the floor so any water there can drain out. Be careful to not drill through any electronics as they are sometimes fitted in the footwells.

Could also be the heater matrix I guess
