    2014 A6 exhaust issue.

With garages closed in local area looking for advice on issue.

Looks like a coupler Or something is missing but does not appear on exhaust schematic from parts shop?

    Mid section of exhaust.

    Thanks

Might it be that one section has simply pulled out of the other?

If so you can just loosen the clamp and reinsert and tighten up the clamp again. If concerned you can always just drive a tek screw through both to lock em together securely.

That sleeve with a clamp on either end is supposed to join the 2 pieces. Loosen it, slide it back down and tighten it again.

    Above worked - thanks

I'd recommend driving a few tek screws or similar through both to lock em together. Did you do that? That'll stop it working loose again. Or parhaps drill both sides and fit an M6 through bolt.

Tek screw both sides. Clamp was loose so tightened as well.

    Thanks for help.

    Appreciated

Good job. Fair play. That is going nowhere.

Those clamps are made from crap and rust through very easy, it's a popular issue on the A6. You can see yours is red rotten in the pics, it'll crumble over time. It's good that your fix held up but you should replace with a new one when places are back open as it will fail again in all likelihood.

It's part SYA23 in the image you attached, they are only around €15 from Audi.
