Shower pump just started pulsing

Just as we put the kids to bed, we heard a noise. Into the hot press, shower pump was going on and off. Switched it off for a few minutes, when turned on, pump started going again. It's a Stuart Turner 55.

Will I be calling a plumber or is there a simple fix?

When the pump was going last night did you have any water discharging from the shower head?

    Yes.

I have a ST pump feeding my shower. An o-ring perished in the mixer valve so it was leaking water all the time hence the pump detected thiand turned on. Might be a smilar issue?

That's exactly what happened to me. Where do you get a replacement o ring?

Is the o ring in the mixer valve perished?
I was lucky enough. I have a good supply of o -rings and one of them fitted fine after a bit of coaxing on with grease.

you should be able to pick one up in a hardware shop. Lidl sometimes sell a handy little o ring kit. I just used one of them and no problems since. Otherwise you could look online and get the correct part number of the o ring and order. For eg my shower mixing valve is a bristan and there is an oring kit available to buy.
    Hope you get sorted :)

Both Lidl and Aldi currently have the selection box of O rings on sale.
