Bought a part from Sweden today. The dealer asked what's my vat number which I said I didn't have one and was paying the vat. Just curious if I gave him a made up number and pretended it was my vat number What would happen next? Vat in Sweden is 25%.

Jaysus 25%, hope our new government don't hear about that! At 23% I thought we were bad!

Why are all farmers not registered for vat?

Because it's too much paperwork and time resource for both the farmer and revenue relative to the amount of money that would derive to either. Instead we get a bat rate of 5.4٪ on our sales to compensate for vat paid on goods and services.

However with decreased milk and beef prices, its likely that we are not being properly compensated at the moment..
