Kitchen Larder Units

    Afternoon all

We're in the process of doing up an old house...and putting in a brand new kitchen. We always wanted a tall kitchen larder...so we can see everything. Tired of years of finding out-of-date jars at the back of a normal unit !!.

We've looked at units in many places...and saw some lovely, and apparently robust, units in Eco Kitchens in Santry. We're getting someone to make the kitchen for us...and he has cautioned against the full pull-out units (the ones where shelves are connected to the door itself and come right out). He says individual pull-out drawers are better - but we're not sure.

Anyone have first-hand experience of both ??...and any strong recommendations or horror stories ??.

    Many thanks,
    K

Baskets/drawers are way better, in the kitchen business myself and i wouldn't go near them pull out yokes they are nothing but trouble they are grand for a while then it starts they wont go in or out bits break off doors become un level they are rattley. In my opinion a kitchen should be all drawers and 2 to 3 cupboards for big stuff. Pull out internal baskets/drawers is the way to go. https://www.blum.com/ie/en/ Have a look here at the practical cabinet solutions sections. I am nearly sure these have a show room you can have a look at all the blum stuff http://www.fff.ie/

I’ve got pull out baskets, and i wouldn’t get a unit where it all pulls out. If you can pull out one drawer it’s easier to see what you have than if you pullout the whole press. I suppose that depends on how wide the unit is though!
