    Or is it a case that we were always going to lose the fight and this is all just to limit the damage of how much we are going to lose by?

    It was always about control rather than eliminating the virus entirely being feasible. As to whether we're succeeding at that or not is unknown until we can test rapidly.

    The "fight" (hate that term about illnesses) is about keeping the hospitals from being overwhelmed so in that regard we're winning so far. The victory will be with a vaccine that works for practically everyone but nothing until then.
