CCTV PoE Issue

Installed two dome 2MP PoE (12v DC) cameras last weekend, cameras support IEEE802.3af/at, each camera has an RJ45 connector and standard power connector, I've wired them in using cat5e, I have a PoE injector with a 12v DC adapter plugged in.

Now when I plug the standard ethernet cable into the camera and into the PoE injector the camera is getting no power, can't for the life of me figure it out.

I've checked the ethernet cable is plugged into the correct side of the PoE injector, no power.

I've also plugged the power supply directly into the cameras power connector and it shows power when I do this.

    Any advice, suggestions appreciated.

Are all 8 wires available on the ethernet cable? I've come across some where only 4 are wired which is the min for 10/100 Mbps ethernet.

Also, check that the PoE injector is IEEE802.3af/at compliant.

Looks like only four pins were being used on the PoE injector, scrapped it and purchased a proper PoE switch, all working fine now.
