Paint for a Galvanised Roller Door

    Hi,
I hope that everyone is safe and well.

I have a roller garage door and the plastic coating on it has stripped off over the years. It’s now all exposed galvanised steel.
It’s starting to develop some areas of rust and I want to paint it and protect it. There is none of the plastic coating left now.
The door is not used very often, maybe once a week.

What paint would be suitable for this?

    All tips appreciated.

    Thanks.

It all peeled away? Never saw that before and I work in the industry. Poor coating job if so. You could spray it if you approach a paint store and ask them for a suitable spray but it's never going to be right and spray gets everywhere. If you want a long lasting job I'd nearly take down the laths and get it recoated properly or replace the laths altogether. We've often been asked to paint/touch up roller doors but we won't do it, I know some painters give it a go but with all the movement and interlocking laths the paint chips away again.

It’s a Glideroll door that I have for years. It started with a small patch that blistered and then it progressed. Every storm strips more off it and now it’s virtually all gone.
    What paint would you suggest?
As I said, it’s opened once a week or once a fortnight only.
    Thanks.
