    I was wondering can you lodge money on Easter Sunday or Monday and have it in account the same day?

    Should be straight away for cash...

    Cheques take the usual time to clear.

    The fastest way to guarantee that the money is in the account is to find someone with a BoI account, hand them the cash and ask them to do an electronic transfer. That will arrive in the target account straight away. If two diferent banks are involved, it probably won't arrive until Wednesday.

    It's possible that a cash lodgement will be credited immediately, I just don't know. If the bank doesn't trust the machine to detect forgeries then probably not.
