    Hello everyone.

I am a independent student living in the west of Ireland. I am not receiving the BTEA allowance due to circumstances at the time of applying, but i am receiving 50% university fees subsidy.
I work as a locum HCA for the past 2 years in a acute hospital, but due to the covid-19 outbreak my shifts have been greatly reduced, I haven't gotten a shift in almost 3 weeks due to the wards being so quiet.

You would think that we would be needed now more than ever due to the outbreak but the reality is that only a few select agency workers who are getting steady shifts. I am searching for work in community settings but they are currently only accepting HCA's who they know, which is understandable to prevent it spreading in nursing homes.

I applied for the HSE "Be on Call" recruitment drive, but they said I wouldn't be offered a job because I was already working in healthcare. It's ridiculous.

Am I entitled to any type of Covid payment?
