BMW 520d headlight module replacement

    Hi,
    I've got a headlight module to replace after it got flooded and frizzed out.
    I purchased the right replacement and was going to have a crack at replacing it myself, but I can't find a video for the procedure online at all.

    Any advice here, the car is a BMW 520d F10, the headlight module that needs attention is on the drivers side.

    Easy enough to get to, but can be awkward to remove. Take off the wheel arch liner on drivers side and the module is held in by two torx screws. Even with screws removed the module can snag, but in most cases brute force on the plastic will get it out.

    Done mine - both sides. 2012 F10. Initially I read all sorts of painful stories but doing the actual job took me about 30mins initially. Have swapped modules out since to test. Literally a 5min job now - don't even need to remove the wheel. Small snipe-nose vice grips and the correct torx bit worked a treat. :) If you need advice/assistance, just shout :)

    Out of interest did you need to code/calibrate the new modules?

    these should just plug in straight off without needing to be initialized

    Sorry for the delay,
    I just wanted to say thanks for the assitance and advice.

    One sunny afternoon my brother and I took the wheel off, popped open the hatch within the wheel-arch.
    Once in there, it was a matter of two torx screws, one easy one awkward, and then, with the help of a needlenose, out came the old module and in with the new.
    So like a game cartridge I could of sworn I heard "Sega" sung in the background.
    Back in with the torx and it was done.
    Well, almost.

    Seems the water had penetrated the module after some dipstick had left the cap off of the back of the main headlight.
    I was lucky I didn't lose that as well!
    So, back on with that and we were done.

    Popped the wheel back on and the headlight levelling was back to new again.

    Thanks again for the help and, if anyone is wary about the job, don't be, it was very easy.
