I have had a year and a half of hell trying to get broadband in but anyway, now everything is done and ready for ftth.

The engineer came out to fit everything and now the line isn't "live" so he couldn't do it!!

Who actually turns on the lines? I don't know who to contact because know one in Eir seems to know! I was told it could be another month!

OpenEIR owns and operates the network. And you can not contact them directly.

In some cases, the network out to you has been build, but the gear in the exchange may not be in place or maybe not fully set up. And yes, that'll take a month or more.

OpenEIR will then notify your provider (doesn't matter which one of them is. Eir is treated like any other provider on this list: https://fibrerollout.ie/rollout-map/where-to-buy/ and they don't get any special priviledges) and tell them to re-schedule the engineer to complete the connection.

All you can do, is regularly check with your provider, if there is any movement on that order.

    /M
