    Howdy All,
Thinking of booking centre Parcs in Longford for Christmas......to include Christmas day.

Anyone on here have experience of this and would it be recommended.

It's expensive enough to get through the door and my worry is that it will cost a further fortune once inside.

any info would be greatly appreciated. I have contacted Centre Parcs but no response yet.

    cheers

It will cost what you make of it to be honest, lots of activities but depending on the ages of kids etc you may do very few or even none or you could do lots. It’s a great place and if you bring your own food etc you can do it quite cheap (whilst there) or spend a fortune eating out 2/3 times a day. The main draw is the pool which doesn’t cost you extra so generally that’s a large part of the day.

Edit to say you will be waiting for a response I’d say, they are busy refunding or rescheduling people’s breaks at the moment.

Its quite magical if you have kids, there is a winter village set up that looks awesome and a lovely experience for small ones. Once inside you it can be as expensive or inexpensive as you make it. For us the expenses once in were Christmas tree & decorations, Santa visit, activities (laser guns, car driving, high wire, bowling), meals out & takeaways. The pool is included and we took our own bikes as the hire is expensive.

The shop is not as a rip off as expected but there is a local Aldi in the local town.

We did new year as well and the village is still there plus the most amazing firework display I have been too.

thanks for the response. Was thinking that Christmas tree might be extra.
Did you cook yourself or go one of the restaurants for Christmas dinner.
Wonder what the Christmas dinner in the restaurants would be like.
If you don't mind me asking what was the cost of getting the tree.
    cheers

The Christmas tree (6ft real) was around e60 or 80 if i recall correctly with a box of decorations and lights that you keep. We went for Christmas dinner in the sports hall (book early) and had a decent enough meal with wine of similar standard that we would cook. Its laid out nicely kind of similar to a wedding but with a Christmas decor.

We loved it, spent the whole day with the kids together assembling presents and playing with them and rather than spending hours cooking. After dinner was walk around the lake and forest as family and doing one of treasure hunts they have going.

I forgot to add we also had spa days that also cost extra but I spent a wonderful half day in the sauna’s, hot tubs, steam rooms and Scandinavian snugs.

We will do the same this year, we all loved it.

If your on FB there is a page for Center Parcs Ireland, not the official one but a tips type one. A lot of the people on it are a pain but if you ask a question you’ll get some good answers along with a load of answers to questions you didn’t ask. There’ll almost certainly be someone there that went for Christmas last year
