Our company was recently acquired, and as a result they said every employee was getting €600. The Ireland base won't give it to us as cash. They want to organize a charity donation and a holiday.

I've no interest in going away, I want the money. The technical director already told some of us that there's money coming are way, but the MD won't let us cash out.

Is there anything we can do. The Ireland leadership time are being so controlling.

If they give it as a cash payment, it would be taxable and you could end up losing 50% of it

Nope companies are allowed to give a giftcard up to a value of €500 once per year that is not taxable
