Cold March and early April these past few years

As the thread title says, has anyone else noticed how a good bit colder March and early April has been the past few years, compared to, say, 10 or 15 years ago?

As I’m out for a long walk in the park most days I’ve noticed how chilly the evenings are and certainly the nights.

    Or is it just me??

I find the days have been milder, even pleasant recently, but the nights and mornings are cold.

Last mild March/April I remember was 2011, which was actually warm. After that, the earth has been cooling because some messer threw ink at the sun.

Was there not a shorts and t shirt episode in March a few years back?

Same here, bar a few days in March 2012. Since then, it seems like it has been bizarrely cold up to May some years. This evening was bitter. And I am an anomaly among Irish women in that I don't feel the cold easily. April 2018 was crazy cold - like a bad January.

Agree, I live in Spain and notice this the last few years, it's still quite chilly here - just north of Barcelona and April 3rd FFS!!!

Seasons have been shifted a good bit ... to think when I was a kid spring started in February!!!

Here in Winnipeg we just got a foot of snow. This is not a joke, it was April 2nd. Ugh.

Spent a few nights outdoors between May and August last year. Some of those were bitterly chilly. The year before, I was in hospital in early May, and as they don't provide blankets (a top sheet iirc) I was freezing the first night.

3 years ago on March 13th a plant of mine was in full bloom. Its only starting to fill out and produce flower buds now, this year. Its been a delayed spring.

You see this sort of thing a lot on the weather forum, "Oh yeah 1996 was one of the best summers ever but 1997 was terrible", etc.
I'm lucky if I can remember what the weather was like last year!

But yeah March was freezing and it's still below normal, daffodils in my garden aren't near coming out yet. Few jobs waiting for me in the shed but I've zero inclination to do them as long as it's still freezing out

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

It could be mid teens or even higher on Tuesday, Spring can be anything that takes its mind, actually that's true all year here!

These things are usually subjective and impressionistic in a memory sense. We live in a country with highly capricious variants in weather.

That said, it being Boards, I'm sure somebody is just about to post a graph that shows this is the coldest March and April of all time :pac:

The public holiday it's most likely to snow on going by history is easter, or so QI informed me.

I remember March and April always being cold. But i think the summers are hotter now.

The end of April is usually milder.
