Selling a car for scrap, tax has ran out

    Hi,

Have a car whose tax ran out at the start of March. Was never declared off road, just allowed to expire and is currently sitting in the driveway. When selling for scrap do I have to pay for 3 months tax? If I am meant to, but sell the car and never bother paying, what sort of recourse would occur?

    Thanks.

Tax it for the full 12 months Jimmy, be a patriot.

Cheers. Thought as much. Citizens Information page was as ridiculously vague as it always is.

I already set up a GoFundMe for the people who run the M50 toll, they can't be doing well right now :(
