How many data protection amendments has Ireland had?

Doing a project and confused by the barrage of information in regards to the various data protection legislation that have been passed. There was one first in 1988 and then 2014 and now 2018. Are those the only ones. If so, what is a summary of what they do?

There are three main acts, but there will also be statutory instruments (mostly orders and regulations).
