Petrol or diesel engine? What parts were replaced in the full service? What size was the tyre? Main dealer or independent?

Independent workshop, petrol engine, oil change, air filter and spark plugs, **** brand 205/55/16 tyre I'd say €500-€550.

    €500ish.

€700-800 from a main dealer? I'd steer clear of a main dealer for a tyre and tracking. You'll get cheaper elsewhere. Same for bulbs. Easy enough DIY or you could get Halfords to do it (if they're still open).

Maybe genuine parts, but motor factors still have full availability of parts, and full delivery service countrywide.

I work for one of their bigger suppliers.

Who the hell replaces one tyre?

I replaced a single Michelin Primacy recently due to getting a nail through the sidewall. The tyre only had about 1000kms on it so doing the one was safe enough considering the minimal wear on it.

My gut says that's a bit high but not too much so. Was that main dealer?

There's long life plugs in them. They're pricey enough. I'd say the price isn't the worst if genuine parts were used.

no but this person is thorough, doing it a long time now ,

now that you say it im not sure if that was track rods or track ends

Yeah, this is it and a few euro extra to use good quality parts or experienced mechanic is money well spent.

Who defines what the “Correct Safety environment “ is?
