    Hi

Myself and my partner are due to fly out to Lisbon with Aer Lingus on Tuesday. The booking was made with expedia and says it is a non refundable booking that cannot be changed or cancelled .

However, if I understood it correctly, I think i heard on the radio that aer lingus are cancelling flights in and out of Europe from Wednesday.

I received an email from Aer Lingus with option to change the flight or receive a voucher for the cost plus 10%. Im happy to go with voucher option but im wondering will expedia have to issue me refund for the whole package given they now not able to provide the flights I booked with hotel?

It is looking like I might be able to fly in and stay in the hotel but would be no flights out back to Dublin. Surely, they are not able to provide the package I was sold so I should get full refund?

I cant get through to Aer Lingus or Expedia to clarify and im worried if I take refund option from Aer Lingus, Expedia will say I choose to cancel so im not due any refund.

I took out travel insurances a year ago with insureandgo but they say they are too busy to advise if I could be due any compensation and will just send me out claim form to be later investigated.

Anybody in a similar situation and able to advise?

If it's Insureandgo, you have no chance. They specifically exclude a pandemic for refunds and there's no cover if the government advises against travel. If you go (assuming you actually can go) they won't cover you for anything and if you stay at home they won't reimburse you.

A company to remember NOT to use next time  I have lived and learned ...
